Lucy Jade
Hi I’m Lucy, a Registered Nutritionist with the Association for Nutrition and the founder of The Female Cycle. I graduated in 2019 with a degree in Applied Food and Nutrition, and I now support women who want to feel more confident around food, understand their bodies better, and build sustainable habits that fit real life.
About me...
My relationship with food was fairly easy growing up, but that changed in my teens when I began trying to control what I ate in order to lose weight. Like many women, I found myself caught in the cycle of diets, fads, and chasing an “ideal” body. It took time, patience, and a lot of learning to rebuild a healthier relationship with food and to feel comfortable in my body again.
Alongside this, I began experiencing digestive issues and other health symptoms that made me even more interested in how nutrition could support everyday wellbeing. After more than 10 years of trying to understand what was going on and feeling dismissed, I was diagnosed with endometriosis in September 2019. That experience had a huge impact on me personally and professionally, and it deepened my interest in women’s health, hormones, and cycle awareness.
It also made me even more passionate about helping women feel heard, understood, and supported when it comes to their health. I know how frustrating it can be when your symptoms are overlooked or misunderstood, and I believe nutrition should be part of a bigger conversation about how women can work with their bodies rather than against them.
My approach...
My coaching is built around the belief that lasting change comes from understanding, not restriction. I do not believe in quick fixes, rigid plans, or one-size-fits-all advice.
Instead, I help women:
- Rebuild confidence around food
- Move away from all-or-nothing thinking
- Create sustainable habits that fit their lifestyle
- Feel more in tune with their bodies and cycles
- Make food choices that support energy, wellbeing, and long-term health
My approach is supportive, practical, and realistic. I want the women I work with to feel informed, understood, and able to make changes that actually last.
Outside of nutrition, you’ll usually find me out walking with my cockapoo, Luna. We love exploring new routes, and I’m always up for a long walk or an ultra-marathon challenge.
Exercise was never really my thing when I was younger. I was definitely the girl trying to get out of PE and swimming lessons at every opportunity. But over time, I’ve found a real enjoyment in movement, whether that’s a walk with my headphones on, a gym session, or building strength in a way that feels good.
I also love cooking, especially plant-based food. I enjoy experimenting with new recipes and finding creative ways to make meals both nourishing and enjoyable. I’m also trying to get better at baking, so that may be a work in progress for a little while longer.
